Parsis –

They are the people who play the key role in shaping up the Dahanu.Parsis are the refugee from Iran who landed in India. Most of are bakers too. There cultures have added a unique flavour to the land.

The Parsi dishes are famous in the town. The combination of both Gujarati and Iranian ingredients are adapted by all.

Their unique flavour and recipe, Parsi dishes, though without a main flavour, use specific oils, a lot of vinegar and chillies in moderation. They are also great sea-food eaters.

Parsi Clothing (Sarees)

The women are known for traditional sarees, and embroidered sarees is known as ‘Garas’. Gara embroidery sarees, originally this sarees are worn in festive occasions. These saree has become rare collector’s items because of their difficult work and exorbitant price.

Here there are people of many cast and religion stay here like Gujaraties, Maharaties, Iranis, Panjaibies and many more. Most of the people here are found to be kohlies the Maharathies they stay near the sea shores as there leaving is on the sea food.
