Dahanu – A Town

Dahanu Rd is 120 km from Mumbai. It takes at least 2 hrs to reach Dahanu Rd. from Borivali Station. If traveling by road it takes approx. 2 and half hours from national high way no. 8 at Charoti Naka to reach Dahanu Rd.

Dahanu Road railway station is the last main station within boundary of Maharashtra State. It is surrounded by greenery on three sides.

Dahanu is well known for its beautiful beaches and most famous for its fruit chickoo and coconuts plantations. It is also known for taddi the juice from palm tree. Weather here is very pleasant in the winters.

Dahanu Rd is also well known as the largest for the Balloon factories. The Khadi Village is also a very interesting and educational trip one could take where the Adivasis and the local tribes make candles, brushes, jiggery, aggarbati and match sticks etc.

There are many interesting places to visit in Dahanu Rd.

The most famous is the beaches which is 2 km away from railway station.

Second is Mahalaxmi temple and Santoshi Ma Temple which is 30 km from Dahanu Station.

It is also a Trekkers Paradise - There are many small and adventurous routes which can be undertaken and enjoyed.

Golvad /Bordi beach which is 3 kms away from Golvad station.

Dahanu is also famous for the tribal people called Adivasis / Warlis.

Dahanu Rd. has many hotels with beautiful scenery; few of them are Resorts Pearl Line which is near the Beach and Hotel Kohali Dhaba. These resorts have beautiful scenery and foods which are situated near the beaches. They are always full in the Holidays and in any Festival Seasons.

Dahanu also known for its great hospility.

There is also a Power Plant that supplies electricity to Mumbai. The electricity is distributed by Reliance Energy. The BSES Power Plant was renamed as Reliance Energy Power Plant in the year 2005.
